I was looking over at Warren Ellis’ blog when I noticed some little buttons along the bottom. I wasn’t quite sure at first what they were for though and I was looking to see if you could leave comments anyway not that I was going to leave a comment but just seeing if there was the ability to do so.
As it is, I realize blogs are very much so ‘last decade’ (not having come up with a good buzzphrase for the period between 2000 and 2010) but I still find blogs to be much more substantive than anything else that has come along since.
Getting back to the matter at hand, one of the buttons was for Google Pus (oops typo there but in this case I like it) and the other was for Twitter.
And I looked at the links and then clicked through and suddenly it all made sense...
Like Facebook, Twitter is the refuge of the idiotic, the vapid and the moronic. Post after post after post after post on Twitter and what they amount to is, “ME TOO!”
I really find I should be making the mentally challenged ‘der’ sound right about now.
This is what we have become. As we descend down a hole of stupidity where originally thought escapes us and lemming like we can only comment on other’s observations. And truly this is nothing new, it’s just in the past it wouldn’t happen in such a public way, it would normally happen off in a bar somewhere where someone was well on their way to anesthetizing themselves with large quantities of cheap alcohol.
And if you think I am being highly curmudgeonly in this case (and I readily admit that I can be highly curmudgeonly at times), then I challenge you to look through the some 300 plus ‘tweets’ and find something of substance in any of them.
You’re going to have to look hard and long (there’s a double entendre for you), because you’ll be f$%^ed if you can.
